Michael is the story teller. When the kids were young, he used to put them to bed with Daddy Stories that recounted his youth growing up on the farm. Though Michael may be somewhat of a Garrison Keeler, he is also quite the skilled bird watcher, and, more notably, chef. Many of Michael's recipes, and those that he has ripped off from family members, are featured on the blog. Michael also enjoys traveling the world with his wife, Ginger.

Ginger is family photographer. Ginger plans family trips and documents them with great skill using both her Nikon and the ever-present iPad. Ginger is a talented gardener who has cultivated impressive yards in both Texas in Alaska. Ginger also has the nimble fingers of a cross stitcher and has been known to stamp the occasional card. Ginger is also a world traveler, with a taste for very old buildings as well as tropical beaches. Ginger should be noted as the most skilled thrift and discount shopper.

Sarah is the adventurer. She's lived in the most states of the kids. Following college, she went to Arizona for her first post school job. Soon, she heard the call of Colorado and packed it all up in a Uhaul with her dog Dante (a Texas Tech native) and moved. Since the move, Sarah has completed her master's degree in Public Health and has helped underserved Coloradans gain access to much needed healthcare. On any given weekend, Sarah can be found reading Kurt Vonnegut or camping in the mountains in her backyard.

Emily is the talker. When she was young her father used to tell that she could "take the brass shine off door handle." Emily has always enjoyed the arts, including theater and writing. She lives in Houston with her dog, Aggie, and works as a communications specialist for an oil and gas services company.

Todd is the guy to have around. Seriously, everyone wants to be his friend. He's honest and kind-hearted and really just a fun person to spend time with. Todd lives in Baton Rouge and is a rockin' hair dresser. He graduated from high school a few years ago and has been crushing it in the stylist world ever since. When not working, Todd may be on the road to New Orleans or hitting up a neighborhood farmers market. He always looks good and is always willing to help a friend look good.
